Lisa Johnson
Lisa is the CEO of the Reach Group, a boutique consultancy with up-to-the-minute knowledge of market forces, trends, and consumers’ buying minds. A leading corporate trainer, researcher, and brand consultant, Johnson is the co-author of Don’t Think Pink (AMACOM) and Mind Your X’s and Y’s (Free Press).
Johnson was an early pioneer in the field of marketing to women, helping to design some of the first sporting goods products tailored for women’s bodies in the early 90’s. In 2000 she co-founded the company ReachWomen, and, together with her business partner, started the popular online newsletter Reaching Women. In 2005, she led a groundbreaking research study on how technology is shaping a new generation and changing the way we all work, play, and shop. This exciting study resulted in the book Mind Your X’s and Y’s and inspired her to take a deep dive into the lives of “connected” women, where she began to trace the impact of the “Gamma Effect.”
Johnson has worked with top companies internationally including Nike, Microsoft, Starbucks, Motorola, Meredith Corporation, Disney, Giant Bicycles, and Kohler. Her marketing concepts have appeared in Harvard Business School’s Working Knowledge, the New York Times magazine, The Chicago Tribune, and on NPR’s Marketplace.
